Former Ring of Honor World Champion Kyle O’Reilly recently spoke with Rolling Stone about his future with ROH. He stated that as of right now, he does not have anything confirmed and he is not sure what his future holds. He is looking to take a little bit of time away and reevaluate things. He noted that he has been wrestling for 12 years and it has taken a toll on his body. “Never say never, though, I’m certainly not definitely done with Ring of Honor, but I’m just going to see what comes my way and remain optimistic.”
When asked about possibly joining WWE, he said that most wrestlers dream about having a WrestleMania moment. He noted that is what drove him to pursue wrestling in the first place. He noted that if the opportunity came up, then he would strongly consider it but again noted that he doesn’t have any concrete plans going forward but never say never. “All I ever wanted was to create art and be the best pro wrestler that I can be. So I need to find an environment that is conducive to that and that will allow me to be that performer. You never know what could happen in WWE. I could be slapped with a gimmick that I’m a nanny for all I know.” He said that just wants to go somewhere he is appreciated whether that be in WWE, ROH or NJPW.
O’Reilly also discussed losing the ROH Championship and more. You can read the full interview here.
