Kyle O’Reilly says he owes his career to Adam Cole, talks about his style and more

ROH World Heavyweight Champion Kyle O’Reilly recently spoke with PWPonderings about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked about his style, which O’Reilly stated that he is trying to do something different and to create his own blend showcase of wrestling how he likes to observe it. He thinks that is what makes the most realistic, logical series of moves in psychology that he can do. “I’m still playing with it and developing it and seeing what I can come up with to see what works and doesn’t work. You know, I’m just happy doing my own thing as well.”

While O’Reilly has made his name in ROH, he has had some great matches in NJPW. He stated that the whole concept of being able to wrestle in NJPW is amazing and when you step between the ropes that there is nothing like it. He noted that working for the promotion is very special and a treat because of the fans. “They treat it like a real sport, and it is so respected and so just getting over there and being treated so well by the company, by the fans, and by the wrestlers, the whole package is my favorite thing about it.” He added that he has had some memorable matches with KUSHIDA in NJPW and brought up the finals with the best of Super Juniors last year.

When asked about his rivalry with Adam Cole, he noted that they have been bitter rivals and tag partners for the last seven years. O’Reilly gave credit to Cole as he thinks that he owes Cole his career. “I feel he has taken me to the next level and as a Singles Wrestler it has kept me relevant.”
