As noted earlier, Marty Scurll has signed a new contract with Ring Of Honor, essentially taking him off the free agent market for the foreseeable future.
Scrull had a lot of leverage since several companies, including WWE and AEW, were interested in signing him. Dave Meltzer reported earlier this week that the money being offered to him was in the range of what top WWE main roster stars are making.
Meltzer noted today that Scrull’s deal is the most lucrative deal in company history, so that shows you how much they value him. Scrull’s deal expired in November and many people in the business believed that AEW was his likely destination. However, talks with ROH were ongoing, and the belief is that his new deal will keep him with the company for a few more years.
As noted earlier, Scrull will also be taking over booking duties for Hunter “Delirious” Johnston. Scurll was reportedly heavily involved in the company creative for this past weekend’s shows and the upcoming free show in Baltimore, which was said to be his idea. Delirious will continue to work for the company and Scrull’s deal will allow him to continue working for the NWA.
