Original plan for G1 Supercard main event

ROH (Ring of Honor) and NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) have stacked the lineup for their co-promoted G1 Supercard event. When the show was initially announced, many fans expected to see the likes of Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, and Hangman Page work the event. That all changed when they got involved with All Elite Wrestling.

It turns out that the original plan for the main event was to have Kazuchika Okada defeat Omega for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Dave Meltzer reported the news latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
