Press Release: ROH announces that Tetsuya Naito will be joining the promotion

Ring of Honor sent out the following press release:

Wrestling fans around the world have been buzzing since the announcement that New Japan Pro Wrestling talent will be appearing on Four Ring of Honor shows in May of this year.

The first two nights in will be “War of The Worlds” and will take place Tuesday May 12th and Wednesday May 13th, 2015 at the legendary 2300 Arena deep in the heart of South Philadelphia Pa. The May 13th show is SOLD OUT but there are still tickets available for the May 12th event.

The 3rd and 4th nights will be “Global Wars” on Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th at the historic Ted Reeve Arena in Toronto, Canada.

Tickets are still available for both nights in Toronto but they are going fast! New Japan Pro Wrestling will be represented by their very finest at these massive events. We will be announcing the full roster of talent at

Tetsuya Naito

Tetsuya Naito is a true success story within New Japan Pro Wrestling, combining amazing athletic ability and undeniable charisma. Ring of Honor fans are sure to see something really special. Naito trained to be a professional wrestler in Japan under the legendary Animal Hamiguchi. He took a chance and earned his way into NJPW through a public work out in 2005 and hasn’t looked back since!

Working his way up through the ranks, Naito has faced and defeated some of the very best. His Pluma Blanca submission and Stardust Press are two signature moves that he has uses with great success. Naito is very diverse in his style with a great mix of mat based and technical wrestling. He also takes to the air when necessary.

His list of accomplishments is impressive. He is a former IWGP NEVER Champion, former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and a 2 time former IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. In 2013 he won the prestigious G1 Climax tournament.  He then unsuccessfully challenged then IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom 8 in front of over 35,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome.  Naito is unique, hard hitting and without a doubt will provide plenty of challenge and excitement in Ring of Honor. Whomever he faces will not have an easy night and you fans will be in for something truly special.
