Ring of Honor returns to Destination America this Wednesday night at 11:00 pm Eastern / 10:00 pm Central!The Hottest and Best Wrestling on the Planet, Ring of Honor, comes to you this week from the William J. Myers Pavilion in Baltimore, Maryland.
This week’s Ring of Honor Television will see a youngster from Japan looking to make his mark against an ROH star. We will hear words on commentary from ROH World & World Television Champion Jay Lethal, see the destructive War Machine in action and finally a tag team main event with championship implications!
We kick things off with the aerial wizard ACH taking on the hungry young lion of New Japan Pro Wrestling, Taakaki Watanabe. ACH is coming in banged up from his NO DQ war with Adam Page at Death Before Dishonor XIII. Watanabe is coming in looking to impress ROH and NJPW officials. Can Watanabe capitalize on potential fatigue or injuries ACH may have? Can ACH get back in the win column and start his march towards a championship?We will see ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness make a special announcement regarding the main event of our Reloaded Tour stop in Philadelphia on August 21. He will also announce the big double main event of Ring of Honor’s next Pay Per View, All Star Extravaganza VII.Truth Martini’s controversial House of Truth, Donovan Dijak & J Diesel, take on the surging War Machine. Raymond Rowe & Hanson have their sights set on an ROH World Tag Team Title opportunity, but Hanson also has a World Television Championship opportunity coming up against Jay Lethal. The H.O.T. are mercenaries who will be looking to take Hanson out ahead of his title opportunity. Raymond Rowe will have his partner’s back and be sure that War Machine stays on the path to a championship.The Decade’s Adam Page will see action. He will have his mentor BJ Whitmer by his side as well as his young boy, Colby Corino. Page has a new intensity that Whitmer is very fond of. Fireworks are always possible when BJ is in the same room as color commentator Steve Corino. Hopefully security will be on notice!Our Main Event will feature the top contenders for the ROH World Tag Team Championships as former 3x champions reDRagon, Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly, take on The Kingdom, Matt Taven & Michael Bennett w/Maria Kannelis. The Kingdom appears to be immersed in turmoil with issues between Adam and Maria Kanellis. This will need to take a back seat for Bennett & Taven who desperately want to be the ROH World Tag Team Champions. reDRagon have their own set of distractions, Fish is now the #1 Contender to the ROH World Television Championship and O’Reilly is the #1 Contender to the ROH World Championship. Does Kanellis have Taven and Bennett ready to take down the former champions? The Kingdom are former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions so they are no strangers to the pressures that come along with the titles. reDRagon may have a mental edge due to the friendship between Kyle O’Reilly and The Kingdom’s Adam Cole.
