As the January deadline for many top stars' contracts approaches, Ring Of Honor is looking to retain as many as possible. One of their stars whose contract is set to expire soon is Silas Young. The 39-year-old is a two-time ROH World TV Champion and his current run with the promotion has been going since 2012. With news of his contract expiring, Young was rumored to be a part of the new class of signees at the WWE Performance Center next year.
He was in attendance for this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, only feeding speculation that he was WWE-bound. However, per a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Young has now been offered a new three-year deal from ROH which he's expected to accept. Young was in attendance for Raw because his son, who is a big WWE fan, wanted to go to the show. This is good news for ROH, as they have one less top star to worry about losing to WWE in January.
WWE has a lot of money to spend due to their Saudi Arabia shows' successes, and their billion dollar broadcast deal with FOX. They're expected to make a big push in free agency when the time comes.
