Ring Of Honor has officially inked one of their key stars to a new deal. PWInsider is reporting that the promotion’s current World Champion, Jay Lethal, has signed a new deal. Lethal’s deal with ROH was set to expire at the end of this year. The report suggests ROH is currently in a “seek and sign” mode. ROH wants to retain a number of their current stars whose contracts are expiring this year, and also bring in new talent for 2019.
Lethal is currently 33-years-old and is in his second reign as ROH World Champion. He has been in the professional wrestling industry since 2001 and has worked for other promotions such as IMPACT Wrestling. Not only is this Lethal’s second reign as ROH World Champion, but it’s his second run with the promotion, after initially leaving ROH back in 2006.
Now, he is one of the promotion’s top stars and is set to defend his ROH World Title against Cody Rhodes at “Final Battle” on December 14th.
