ROH COO Joe Koff addresses speculation that the promotion is shutting down

ROH Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff will be appearing on the ROHStrong podcast this Monday. ROH’s Kevin Eck, the host of the podcast, posted an excerpt from the interview on ROH’s website including Koff addressing those who believe the promotion will not return from the hiatus.

ROH started the hiatus after last week’s Final Battle: End of an Era PPV and it will last through the first quarter of 2022. ROH also released wrestlers from their contracts with the idea that when they do return to holding events, they’ll use wrestlers on a per-show basis.

Some people doubt the promotion will return from hiatus. Koff noted that ROH never stated that they are shutting down.

“What seeped into the narrative … is that we were shutting down, when all we announced is that we were not doing any live events in the first quarter.  We never used the words ‘shutting down.’”

ROH has announced an event during Wrestlemania 38 weekend in Dallas, Texas in April. PWinsider.com reports that the venue had already been booked and paid for before the announcement that ROH would be going on hiatus.
