The latest on Marty Scurll’s status with ROH

An update on the status of Marty Scurll has surfaced online.

Ring of Honor announced earlier this week that Scurll would be working the main event of their Honor Reigns Supreme show on January 12th in Concord, N.C. at the Cabarrus Arena.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “No word if that means he’s staying with ROH, which we were told gave him a great offer.”

The contest will see La Faccion Ingobernable of Rush & Dragon Lee & Kenny King vs. Villain Enterprises of Scurll & Body King & PCO in a six-man tag team match take place. As of this writing, he’s not advertised for any other ROH shows but this could be an indication that the two sides came to some kind of agreement.

The speculation about Scurll started when his contract with Ring of Honor recently expired and the belief was that he was finishing up with the promotion at the Final Battle PPV.

Scurll not only appeared at the TV tapings that same weekend but then also had a staredown with NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis at the end of the NWA Into the Fire pay-per-view.
