Will Ospreay recently spoke with ESPN.com about his career and more. During the interview, he was asked about winning the ROH TV Title from Bobby Fish during the recent ROH UK tour. He said that it was a cool moment and that no one can argue with the pedigree and the prestige of Ring of Honor. He added that winning the title from Fish was huge for his career.
There’s no doubt that Ospreay’s performances have put him on WWE’s radar as someone they would like to sign. However, he is currently in a good position as he is working for NJPW and ROH. Ospreay called it a win-win situation as he is working for two of the best companies in the world right now and said that NJPW treats him very well. “I just feel like right now it’s not the time for me,” he added regarding going to WWE. He noted that he watched WWE growing up and watched talents like Paul Heyman and Matt Hardy, who have inspired him. “The WWE will be the dream; however, I wanna go in there with a big splash. I don’t wanna go in there and be thrown in the shallow end of the pool. I wanna be thrown in the deep end, and trust me when I say it, I’ll swim.”
