Another former champion says goodbye to Impact Wrestling

Two former champions are moving on from Impact Wrestling.

We wrote yesterday about DJZ finishing up with the company. He is now a free agent.

Trevor Lee, a former Impact Wrestling X-Division and Tag Team Champion, announced today that he is no longer under contract and he is a free agent.

News about Lee’s departure had been known for several weeks and the belief is that he is on his way to WWE, possibly as part of the new signees expected to be announced this month.

The landscape of professional wrestling is changing this year with All Elite Wrestling officially launching. WWE has more money than ever before thanks to their new TV contracts with NBCUniversal and FOX so you can expect them to sign up more top independent names. Ring Of Honor is also looking to sign more talent as they get ready for their big Madison Square Garden show during WrestleMania weekend.

It’s a good time to be a wrestling fan and a great time for wrestlers because they now have the leverage to command more money.
