Backstage News On Joe Hendry’s Failed Attempt To Win TNA World Title At Bound For Glory

After years of grinding in the pro wrestling industry, 2024 has been a breakout year for Joe Hendry.

His popularity exploded after appearing in a battle royal on NXT TV as the crossover between the two promotions continued. Despite getting the biggest pop during his entrance out of the rest of the competitors, he was the first to be eliminated from the battle royal.

Since that time, he’s appeared in NXT multiple times and even challenged for the NXT Title, although he fell short in his attempt. This past Saturday, he had the biggest match of his TNA run when he challenged Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Title.

JBL helped Nemeth retain the title as he came out to close line Hendry. This was a surprise to many, considering they expected Hendry to win the title here.

Fightful reports that sources were under the belief two weeks ago that Hendry wasn’t winning the title. The main event was the Tag Team Title bout, which was locked in as the main event of TNA Bound For Glory weeks ago.
