Fightful Select has a few updates on some recent stories, touching on three names who left TNA this year and where they stand now.
Building on a report from Bodyslam.net, Fightful Select reports that Sami Callihan has been working backstage in AEW. Callihan has been on the production side of things after being let go by TNA earlier this year, and per the report, the arrangement has been on a trial basis, one that could lead to more if things go well.
Callihan is a natural fit for the work. He retired from in-ring competition in 2025 and moved into a backstage role with TNA, where he produced matches, agented, and worked with the merchandise and marketing departments before being released as part of the promotion’s workforce reduction. When his exit was announced, he said publicly that he had expected the call to be about a creative role rather than a departure.
Sinner & Saint were released by TNA last week. Fightful Select confirmed that the team of Travis Williams and Judas Icarus had asked for their releases and were granted them. According to the report, a number of TNA sources described the pair as well-liked, and many were surprised they didn’t get more opportunities on TNA television.
The duo first appeared for TNA in 2024 and were later placed in the Northern Armory faction alongside Josh Alexander, and then Eric Young, before that group split last September. They arrived with a strong independent reputation built across promotions like Prestige, DEFY and DPW.
On Steve Maclin, Fightful Select reports there has at least been preliminary contact between him and AEW, though little more than that is known, including whether a deal is coming any time soon. Maclin was among the names TNA let go in the same round of cuts earlier this year.
