A new report offers a counter to Tommy Dreamer’s take on his recent TNA departure, with the company’s side of the story now emerging.
According to False Finish, sources inside TNA indicate that Dreamer’s public statements about his exit are not accurate. Per the report, the belief within the company is that Dreamer had control over who received a push and was not interested in building new contenders. The same sources suggested that TNA’s booking and creative direction had not been working, and that a change was needed, particularly as the promotion operates on the bigger platform of AMC this year. Announcing the news on Busted Open Radio on June 17, an emotional Dreamer said he and TNA had “mutually agreed to part ways,” stressing that he held no ill will and wanted the company to succeed. TNA’s official statement described the move as part of a broader “workforce reduction.”
Dreamer’s exit has been a point of debate since it occurred. Fightful Select reported that, while Dreamer was well-liked by many, his creative ideas had faced criticism from several TNA talents in recent years. At the same time, names like Matt Hardy and Nic Nemeth publicly praised Dreamer as both an agent and a person following his departure.
Sources inside TNA indicate to False Finish that Tommy Dreamer's statements are not accurate. Dreamer did not want to build contenders and in fact had control of who got pushed.
