Following Bully Ray’s challenge at TNA Slammiversary for one final match against The Hardy Boyz, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has given his blunt assessment of the situation. On his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T stated that the match is “not possible” and the legendary teams need to “let it go.” Booker T was direct in his reasoning, pointing to the health of Bully Ray’s longtime tag team partner, D-Von Dudley, as the primary reason the match shouldn’t happen.
‘It’s Not Possible’
Bully Ray made a surprise appearance at TNA Slammiversary this past Sunday, confronting The Hardy Boyz and issuing a challenge for a final match at TNA’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view on October 12. Ray later explained that D-Von Dudley missed the event due to a family matter but would be at Bound for Glory for the match.
“Let me tell you something, it’s not possible,” Booker T said. “D-Von, damn it, he just had a heart attack or a stroke not too long ago. He can’t work anymore. He’s done. He’s finished.”
‘Let’s Just Forget About It’
D-Von had a stroke in 2020 and underwent spinal surgery in 2022. Booker T continued, stating that he feels the teams should move on from their iconic rivalry and that fans should forget about seeing one last encounter.
“Bubba Ray, look, man, these guys just don’t know when to let it go. That’s my thing,” he stated. “They just don’t know when to put it down. It’s over. Okay?… All that other stuff you was talking about, Jacy Jayne and Trick Williams, AJ Styles, all that stuff, that’s cool. But let’s forget about The Dudleys vs. The Hardys. Let’s just forget about it.”
