TNA star Chris Bey has shared an emotional and reflective post on Instagram, marking the one-year anniversary of a day he believed was going to be the end of his life. Bey opened up about his lifelong passion for wrestling and his gratitude for the support he received during his recovery.
A Lifelong Dream
Bey began his post by explaining that wrestling has been his passion since he was a small child. “Wrestling has always been my life LONG before I made it a career,” Bey wrote. “Since I was 3 I’ve been addicted and I’ve known this was what I wanted to do with my life. Rarely does one get to chase and achieve their dreams.”
He reflected on his journey and the decisions he made leading up to the incident. “If this was to be the end of my journey, I had no regrets in the decisions I’ve made that led me to this moment,” he stated.
Finding Strength in Support
Bey credited his faith and the support of those around him for giving him the strength to recover. “Had a lot of conversations with God, and understanding that I was still alive for a purpose made me push everyday with an unimaginable strength and drive,” he shared.
He specifically thanked his girlfriend, his tag team partner, and the wrestling community. “The support of my amazing girlfriend, the best tag team partner ever, TNA and the entire wrestling world kept me feeling like I mattered and I was cared about. I’m so grateful and thankful for all of it. The work from doctors and staff, top notch.”
The Story Continues
Bey concluded his message by celebrating his life and looking toward the future, stating that his story is not finished.
“Today, I celebrate life because a year ago I thought it was the end of mine. Greatest Story Ever Told is far from over,” he wrote. “I love you all. – Chris”
