During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Daria Rae provided specific details regarding her contractual status with TNA Wrestling. When asked about her long-term commitment to the promotion, the new authority figure confirmed the duration of her current agreement while expressing optimism about a potential future beyond it.
“So I signed a six-month deal. I’ll tell you guys that,” Rae stated. “But I plan on seeing it through. I’m having a lot of fun. Everything’s going great so far.”
Rae elaborated on the conditions that would lead to an extension of the partnership. “As long as it’s a continuously mutually beneficial situation, meaning I’m adding value, and I feel good about what I’m getting in return, then I don’t see why it wouldn’t continue long term,” she said.
Rae explained why she did not join the company immediately after her departure from WWE, noting that she had initial conversations with TNA management but required time away from the industry. “I just wasn’t ready. I needed space. I needed… a regroup,” Rae explained. “From 21 years old to 31 years old, I was in the WWE my entire adult life. My identity was WWE, and so I needed to… find out who the hell I was as a person.”
Balancing TNA with Outside Projects
Rae highlighted the flexibility provided by her TNA contract, which allows her to pursue other professional interests such as acting. “I’m filming one [movie] tomorrow, one next week, right after TNA. So I’m very much going to continue to pursue these other things, because I think the purest form of being who I am is being able to do all the things that I love, and have the freedom to do that, which TNA allows me,” she said.
Despite her other commitments and the short-term nature of the contract, Rae emphasized her dedication to her on-screen role. “I’m very much laser focused. I put so much time and energy on the look for my character, on the promo, on the catch phrases, on the merch… because I take it very seriously and the stakes are very high for me, because I think that we need to do everything full throttle, or do nothing at all,” Rae stated.
