Two Former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Are Coming Out of Retirement at Impact 1000

Impact Wrestling has loaded up the show for the 1000th episode of its weekly flagship show, as returning stars will be featured in addition to big matches.

The promotion confirmed today that Alex Shelley will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at the show against Trey Miguel.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Gail Kim, who currently works as a producer and Head of Talent Relations for Impact, revealed she will be coming out of in-ring retirement for a match on the show. It’s unclear who she will wrestle.

“What do you think, Tommy [Dreamer]? What are your opinions on this? [He said do it]. If Tommy says do it, then I’ll do it. If [Awesome] Kong can do it, if the Beautiful People can do it, If D-Von can do it, Gail, Kim can do it.”

Kim has not wrestled since the Rebellion 2019 pay-per-view against Tessa Blanchard. Also, as seen below, Awesome Kong will also be coming out of retirement on the same show for her first match in 3 years. Here is the updated card for Impact 1000, which takes place on September 9:
