Former Knockouts Champion was supposed to make Impact Wrestling return earlier this year

Back in June, former TNA star Taylor Wilde had fans speculating over a potential return to Impact Wrestling.

Wilde worked in TNA from 2008-2010 where she won the Knockouts Title once and Knockouts Tag Team Titles twice. Wilde retired from the pro wrestling business in 2011 and hasn’t wrestled since due to her shifting her focus to a different career field.

The former Knockouts Champion had sent out some teasers on social media at the time. Now, Wilde has opened up on the meaning behind those tweets and whether a return to the promotion was actually a thing, which indeed it was.

Wilde recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. During the interview, she revealed that she was initially booked for an Impact Wrestling event in March.

Although there had been rumors about Wilde possibly appearing at the TNA: There’s No Place Like Home event, Wilde claims that they had agreed for her to appear at the Lockdown event in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on March 28.

“Truth be told, because I have quite a history with the people who work at IMPACT, formerly TNA, it was like a tryout situation for the both of us. I know I love wrestling and I’m excited to get back in the ring but it’s been a long time. So, to make sure it’s something I really wanted,” Wilde said, “and if I was really into it it would have gone from there. Then there’s the simple fact that I’m Canadian and these are American dates, so there’s a lot of paperwork that goes into that. So Windsor, it all seemed like a good fit.”

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the event was nixed, which also meant her return to the promotion wasn’t happening.

Wilde also talked about how not working during the outbreak was the right decision for her family and more. Check out the full interview here.
