A former TNA World Champion is on her way out of the company. Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reports that Tessa Blanchard has left TNA.
According to the report, sources close to Blanchard say she asked for her release and was granted it. No reason for the departure was given.
Blanchard returned to TNA in December 2024, four years on from a controversial exit. A third-generation wrestler and the daughter of Tully Blanchard, she made history in January 2020 by defeating Sami Callihan at Hard to Kill to become the first woman to win the Impact World Championship. She is also a former Knockouts Champion.
Her first run ended in June 2020, when the company stripped her of the world title and released her. That exit came amid allegations of bullying and racism from several fellow wrestlers, including the alleged use of a racial slur, all of which Blanchard denied. Her 2024 return drew a mixed reaction backstage, with multiple talent reportedly uneasy about the move.
Blanchard remained an on-and-off presence on TNA television through 2025 while also working for CMLL in Mexico. Per Fightful, her status with CMLL has not changed following her TNA departure.
