During a contract signing segment on the latest episode of TNA Impact, the upcoming match between The Hardys and Team 3D at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view was made official, and a stipulation was added. The two teams will now compete in a Tables Match for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.
The segment, hosted by TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella, saw the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Matt and Jeff Hardy, making an offer to their longtime rivals. Matt Hardy proposed putting the titles on the line in their match at Bound For Glory to give Team 3D the opportunity to become 25-time World Tag Team Champions and to settle the debate over which team is the greatest of all time. “We need you in this match,” Matt said. “So we are willing to put up the TNA World Tag Team titles so that you guys could be 25-time World Tag Team Champions and you become the GOATS”.
After Santino Marella consulted the live crowd and confirmed the titles would be on the line, Bully Ray of Team 3D responded. He brought up their history, specifically referencing the first-ever Tag Team Tables match between the two teams at the Royal Rumble in 2000. “25 years ago in Madison Square Garden at the Royal Rumble 2000, the four of us made history in the first-ever Tag Team Tables match,” Bully said. “And you won… It bothered us. It’s always bothered us”.
With that history in mind, Bully Ray issued the final challenge to make their Bound For Glory match a Tables Match. “So in 2025, if we’re gonna do this, let’s do this the right way,” he stated. “The Hardys, Team 3D, Bound for Glory, for the TNA World Tag Team Championships, in a Tables Match!”.
Bully Ray then added a final stipulation: if The Hardys win, Team 3D will shake their hands and acknowledge them as the better team. If Team 3D wins, the titles will come back to “Dudleyville”. After the crowd chanted for tables, Bully Ray declared that they did not need to sign a contract. His partner, D-Von, then ripped up the contract papers, and the four men shook hands to make the match official.
The segment concluded with a final staredown between the two teams, setting the stage for their match at Bound For Glory on Sunday, October 12.
