History was made at tonight’s TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view, as NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated Masha Slamovich to capture the TNA Knockouts World Championship in a “Winner Take All” match. With the victory, Jayne will now carry the top women’s titles for both the NXT and TNA brands simultaneously.
The highly anticipated inter-promotional match saw Jayne accompanied to the ring by her Fatal Influence stablemates, Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. The bout was a hard-fought affair, with Slamovich starting strong before Jayne took control.
A Hard-Fought Battle
Jayne settled into a prolonged period of offense, dominating the TNA champion but finding herself unable to secure the victory. Throughout the match, every time Slamovich showed signs of life and began to mount a comeback, Jayne’s partners in Fatal Influence would get involved from the outside, shifting the momentum back in the NXT champion’s favor. At one point, Jayne attempted to use one of the title belts as a weapon, but Slamovich managed to avoid the cheap shot.

Interference Neutralized
The constant interference eventually drew out Slamovich’s allies. As Fatal Influence got involved once again, Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee ran down to the ring to make the save, brawling with Jazmyn Nyx and Fallon Henley and fighting them to the backstage area. With the odds finally evened, Slamovich hit her signature Snow Plow finisher for a very close near fall.
A Shocking Conclusion
In the final moments of the contest, Slamovich looked to hit her Requiem finisher, but Jayne managed to avoid the move. After a near fall from a roll-up attempt by Jayne, she hit her finisher, the Rolling Encore, to secure the pinfall victory and become the new double champion.
Jacy Jayne’s victory marks the most significant moment to date in the ongoing partnership between WWE/NXT and TNA Wrestling. As the reigning champion of two separate promotions, Jayne is now expected to appear on both NXT on Tuesday nights and TNA Impact! on Thursdays, defending her titles against challengers from both rosters. The historic win immediately creates a host of potential new dream matches and further blurs the lines between the two companies. Click here for complete TNA Slammiversary results.
