Karrion Kross opens up on what led to his Impact Wrestling departure

Karrion Kross has given some insight into what led to his departure from Impact Wrestling prior to him signing with WWE NXT.

Things started to go downhill for Kross last year as he asked for his release from Impact in May 2019. He had several disagreements with management and ultimately taken off the air.

It all came down to him wanting more money and an increase in creative control of his character. Thus, if Impact wasn’t willing to give him those things then he wanted to become a free agent and explore his opportunities.

His last match in the promotion came on July 7th, 2019, but he had to wait until December before he got out of his contract with the company. The highly-touted prospect found interest from WWE, which decided to sign him in February and place him in NXT.

In an interview with ESPN, Kross commented on the issues that he had with the promotion.

“I was very angry at that time and I was very, very, very determined to find a way to find the fulfillment that I was looking for in my life,” Kross told ESPN. “Regardless of whether or not certain people agreed with my perspective or not. I say that as respectfully as possible.”

Since joining WWE, Kross has been booked as a top star and recently won the NXT Title from Keith Lee.

Kross also talked about his rise in NXT, his mindset, and more. You can read the entire interview here.
