Kurt Angle issues statement on upcoming surgery for benign tumor

As noted over the weekend, Kurt Angle announced to the audience at the Impact Wrestling tapings that he has a tumor on his neck. The tumor is benign and it’s something he’s been dealing with since 2012. Kurt is not expected to be sidelined for too long (3-4 weeks) but the next TNA TV tapings take place in less than three weeks so if he doesn’t appear on those shows then that would mean that he’ll be off TV for the next several months. Of course, there is also the Desination America issue with TNA. If TNA is not able to get a new TV home then we may have seen the last of Kurt Angle on TNA television.

Kurt Angle issued the following statement on his website:

“To update all of you that have asked and commented about my neck: The tumor is benign and my surgery is next week. I will be out of action for about a month and I’ll be coming back better than ever! Thank you all for your incredible support. Your comments have kept my spirits high throughout this trying time. Much Love, Kurt.”
