Kylie Rae explains why she turned down Impact Wrestling’s initial contract offer after Bound For Glory PPV

Ahead of Saturday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view, Kylie Rae was interviewed on Chris Van Vliet’s YouTube channel.

It was an extensive interview and Kylie talked about taking a break after leaving AEW, signing with Impact Wrestling, comparisons to Bayley and much more.

Kylie Rae talked about turning down a contract for Impact Wrestling after Bound for Glory PPV: “After the Bound for Glory PPV, which I was grateful to them for even giving me an opportunity, we were talking and discussing a possible contract. I wasn’t ready. I was honest with them. I wasn’t ready mentally, physically or emotionally. All the props to them. They were 100% understanding. It was one of the hardest decisions I ever made. I remember sitting up for days, but I knew in my heart I was not ready. They were understanding. They said keep in touch. A couple months later they reached back out. They stuck to their word and offered, and at that time, I was ready. I felt like I was getting back into a groove and the days were not hard anymore, if that makes any sense to anyone who has gone through some stuff. Once the days started to get better and better, I wanted it so bad. I firmly believe if I would have continued going at the rate I was going at (before I took that break), I would have never come back. I don’t know where I would be. It wasn’t healthy. That’s the bottom line. Where I am today, I am a completely different person. They are such a supportive group of people. Every time I walk in, it is fun and lighthearted. People want to be here. Last year was probably the hardest time in my life. I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t even know if we would be doing this interview. I don’t think I would even have the courage to respond to doing an interview. I had no confidence. I was losing control of my muscles. It was detrimental. It was bad.”
