Mickie James, a multi-time former women’s champion, recently addressed the possibility of returning to WWE for one final run. However, she believes she has already achieved everything she set out to do in professional wrestling.
One More Run
Appearing on Busted Open Radio, James was asked directly about the possibility of having a final tenure with WWE. She revealed that she had recently discussed her ability to compete with today’s roster. “I said, I think that that’s always something where. But I was having a conversation with someone. They were like, ‘Oh, could you do one more run?’ I was like, ‘Hell yeah, I could do one more run. I got it in me,” she stated.
However, James feels she has nothing left to prove inside the ring. “And they were like, ‘Oh, what do you have to prove?’ And I go, ‘You know what? I’ve been really blessed. I think I set out and achieved all my goals. I don’t really have anything else to prove. I think I’ve proved everything that I could prove. Then if anything, it would be like, ‘Oh, I can still go with these girls.’ But, you know, I can I can whoop them all”.
“I think we all like that appreciation back from the company to say, ‘Hey, what you did mattered and we value you.’ And it is like that tip of the hat of like, ‘We know that you put in your licks. We know you took some shit and we know that this that and the third, but we actually appreciate you and respect you'”.
Current Status and Hall of Fame Induction
Mickie James, an 11-time women’s world champion between WWE and TNA, was recently honored as a TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer. The ceremony took place during the TNA Bound for Glory event. James, who has not yet been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, joins a list of TNA Knockouts legends in the TNA Hall of Fame, including Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, and Traci Brooks.
