TNA star Mike Santana has shared his hope to face AJ Styles, calling it his “ultimate, last dream match.” With Styles approaching the end of his in-ring career, speculation has arisen about the possibility of a match between the current TNA standout and the man who helped build the promotion. While speaking on the Direct Discussions Podcast, Santana made it clear that he is actively hoping to make the encounter a reality.
“Trust me, I want to do everything, and will do everything in my power to try to make that match happen. That’s like my ultimate, last dream match,” Santana stated. “I’ve been blessed and thankful to work with some amazing people and people that I grew up watching, and I’ve idolized, and I always say, like, it’s wild to me that I got to wrestle a lot of guys that I’ve played with their action figures.”
Santana noted the significance of the potential bout taking place within TNA, noting the historical connection Styles has to the brand. He framed the matchup as a clash between the current face of the company and the “face of the past.”
“AJ is definitely like that last one for me, and I think it’ll mean a lot if it happened in TNA, in a TNA ring,” Santana said. “You know, as someone who is like currently, you know the face of TNA against the face of the past, right? Like two guys who are synonymous with the brand.”
