MJF Blasts TNA President Carlos Silva Over Match Cancellation: ‘This Guy Is Actively A Dumb Motherf***er’

MJF is not holding back after his planned indie match against Nic Nemeth was pulled by TNA. The bout was set for Create-A-Pro in New York on May 1, but is now off following a decision by TNA President Carlos Silva.

TNA has been pulling its talent from independent bookings against AEW stars, citing “partner conflicts.” According to Fightful Select, Silva was unhappy that AEW Collision aired opposite TNA Impact last Thursday, despite the time slot change being a result of TNT’s March Madness coverage and not an AEW decision.

MJF responded directly on Twitter. “It’s called being preempted due to March madness. This guy is actively a dumb motherf**er. Congrats. You pay your talents sht. [Then] force them off shows where they can make money. #lolTna,” MJF wrote.

The match had been generating buzz heading into May. MJF and Nemeth had been building toward the bout on social media and through Busted Open Radio, where Nemeth serves as a regular co-host alongside his TNA commitments.

Nemeth re-signed with TNA earlier this year and remains one of the promotion’s top stars. The former Dolph Ziggler has established himself as a consistent main eventer in TNA since leaving WWE, and the Create-A-Pro booking would have marked a rare crossover appearance against AEW’s reigning world champion.

The broader situation has been unfolding over several days. Fightful reported that Leon Slater was also pulled from a match against Ricochet at the WrestleCon SuperShow in Las Vegas, with sources suggesting TNA is moving toward an environment where its talent cannot work against AEW wrestlers anywhere. Nemeth is said to be pushing to remain on that card. Additionally, an MJF match against Bear Bronson for Game Changer Wrestling last month was reportedly blocked at TNA’s direction before it could be announced publicly.

TNA has not offered a public statement beyond Silva’s reference to partner conflicts. AWWE is a current TNA partner, which sources believe is a factor in the restrictions being applied specifically to AEW crossover bookings.
