In a historic moment at NXT Gold Rush, Lei Ying Lee defeated Kelani Jordan and Jordynne Grace to become the new TNA Knockouts World Champion. The triple threat match served as one of the featured bouts of the evening at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Match Recap
The action was fast-paced, with all three competitors vying for control. In the closing moments, Kelani Jordan attempted a 450 Splash on Lee but missed the target. Jordynne Grace capitalized on the chaos, delivering a backfist to both Lee and Jordan. Grace then executed a spinning powerbomb on Jordan and went for the cover. However, Lee broke up the pinfall attempt by kicking Grace in the head. Lee immediately covered Jordan to secure the three-count and the championship.
Presidential Presentation
Following the match, TNA President Carlos Silva made an appearance to personally present the championship to the winner. Silva entered the ring and wrapped the title belt around Lei Ying Lee’s waist, solidifying the beginning of her reign. Silva has been a supporter of Lee in recent months, notably presiding over her contract signing earlier this year.
Restoring Honor
The victory marks a significant milestone for Lee, who had vowed to “restore honor” to the championship. She had been critical of Kelani Jordan’s attitude and actions since Jordan won the title, labeling the former champion a “traitor” to the division. By pinning Jordan directly, Lee fulfilled her promise to take back the title and bring it home to TNA.
