It’s no secret that TNA has wanted to get Alberto Del Rio ever since they got word that he was free and clear from WWE. Despite his recent issues outside of the ring, PWInsider reports that talks between Del Rio and TNA are ongoing but nothing has been signed.
If they can reach a deal within the next several hours then it would make sense to debut him on Thursday’s almost live (it’s on tape delay by an hour or so) episode of Impact Wrestling. Paige lives in the area so if he is already in Orlando then it probably would not be too much of a hassle to get him to the arena in time.
Back in October, Del Rio said that he would work for TNA as long as they have enough money to pay him. He does not come cheap. As noted earlier, there are no major changes expected until March so don’t expect too many big surprises on this week’s episode.
