Ricky Sosa Announced For TNA Wrestling Events In Atlanta, GA This Week

TNA Wrestling has officially announced that international standout Ricky Sosa will be part of the iMPACT! tapings on March 5 and March 6 in Atlanta, Georgia. This will mark the North American debut for Sosa, who has gained significant popularity across the European independent scene. The 21-year-old wrestler from Belgium has recently made a name for himself in promotions such as KHAO Wrestling in France.

Sosa was recently pulled from the prestigious wXw 16 Carat Gold tournament due to what was described as a “last-minute major career opportunity.” A report from Fightful Select confirmed that this opportunity was the upcoming set of TNA tapings at the Gateway Center Arena. In addition to his TNA appearance, Sosa has already been announced for GCW The Immortal Clusterf**k as part of WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas.

Mark Henry Endorses The Future Star

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently took to social media to offer a glowing endorsement of the young Belgian star. Quoting a photo of the two together on X, Henry highlighted the specific attributes that make Sosa a “can’t-miss” prospect for a major promotion. Henry noted that Sosa possesses the “extra thing” required to succeed at the highest level of the business.

“I don’t know if you guys know Ricky Sosa, but he is going to be an unbelievable talent in the future,” Henry wrote. He added, “He’s young athletic and he’s got that extra thing that you need for pro wrestling.” This high-profile backing from the “World’s Strongest Man” has significantly increased the anticipation for Sosa’s arrival in the United States.

TNA’s New Era In Atlanta

The debut of Sosa comes as TNA continues its residency in Atlanta, Georgia, for its latest loop of television tapings. The promotion has been actively looking for “new and fresh” talent to fill its roster following several recent departures.  As of today, TNA currently has no plans to officially announce Sosa’s first opponent, though he is expected to be a featured part of both nights of the Atlanta tapings.
