The cross-promotional war between TNA and WWE NXT is set to continue in a big way on this week’s episode of NXT, as more top stars from TNA are expected to appear. According to a new report from PWInsider, Mustafa Ali, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Mike Santana are all scheduled to be at this week’s NXT taping to continue the invasion angle that began last week.
The invasion officially kicked off on the September 23 edition of NXT, when a host of TNA talent made their presence felt throughout the show, culminating in a massive show-ending brawl. The TNA contingent, which included former WWE stars like Eric Young and Matt Cardona, as well as TNA mainstays like Moose and Mike Santana, and even the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions, The IInspiration, made it clear that they were done being disrespected by WWE’s developmental brand. The chaotic scene saw the invaders jump the barricade and attack the NXT roster.
The names listed are all significant players in TNA. Mustafa Ali is a former WWE star who has become one of the top performers in TNA since his arrival. Frankie Kazarian is a multi-time champion and a veteran of both TNA and AEW. Moose is a former TNA World Champion. Mike Santana is a former multi-time tag team champion who has recently reinvented himself as a singles star.
This invasion angle is the most significant development yet in the partnership between WWE and TNA, which was officially announced in January 2025. Previous reports have indicated that the storyline is planned to be a long-term one and that fans should expect “unconventional” programming from TNA in the weeks following their Bound for Glory pay-per-view, which could include tapings at the WWE Performance Center.
