TNA President Addresses Joe Hendry’s Status Amid WWE Rumors

TNA President Carlos Silva has publicly addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Joe Hendry and the reports that the TNA star is expected to sign with WWE full-time next year. During an interview on the Battleground Podcast, Silva confirmed that Hendry is still a contracted TNA performer but offered an outlook on his long-term status. Hendry has become a featured player on WWE’s NXT brand, leading to questions about where his loyalties and his future ultimately lie.

It was reported last month that Hendry was in the process of being phased out of TNA programming with the internal expectation that he would be WWE-bound by the beginning of 2026. When asked directly if Hendry is still a TNA star, Silva confirmed his current status while acknowledging the fluid nature of the situation.

“That’s correct,” Silva responded. “Yes, he is. You know, he is until he’s not. But he is. And Joe’s been great. Joe’s been great for us. Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to sort of work through that as good partners do.”

Hendry, a former TNA World Champion, has been one of the top figures in the WWE-TNA crossover. His “I Believe in Joe Hendry” entrance theme has become a viral sensation, making him a fan favorite in both companies. He has made numerous appearances on NXT television and even competed in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match and at WrestleMania.

He is also scheduled to work an NXT live event in Florida this coming weekend, further blurring the lines between the two promotions. His most recent TNA match was a victory over Eric Young at the Victory Road premium live event.
