Nic Nemeth has seemingly voiced frustration or taken a pointed shot at the current TNA World Championship situation, specifically regarding NXT star Trick Williams holding the title. Nemeth made the comments in a recent post on X while promoting TNA’s upcoming “Against All Odds” premium live event.
In his tweet today, Nemeth promoted the June 6th show in Tempe, Arizona, and highlighted a meet & greet opportunity. He wrote: “AGAINST ALL ODDS is LIVE in Tempe, Arizona JUNE 6! PLUS you can hang with The Tag Team Champions & the guy that does the fun turn around and smile move, (before losing the TNA World Title to guys that don’t even work here).”

The latter part of the tweet – “(before losing the TNA World Title to guys that don’t even work here)” – is a clear and critical reference to TNA’s Joe Hendry (whom Nemeth appears to be alluding to as “the guy that does the fun turn around and smile move”) losing the TNA World Championship to Trick Williams. Williams is a contracted WWE NXT superstar, and his title win occurred as part of the ongoing, high-profile crossover between TNA Wrestling and WWE’s NXT brand.
This statement comes at an interesting time, as Trick Williams defended the TNA World Championship against TNA’s Mike Santana on NXT this week, and then against Elijah (formerly Elias in WWE) at TNA’s “Against All Odds” event this Friday, June 6th.
As is often the case in professional wrestling, there’s a distinct possibility that Nemeth’s comments are part of a developing storyline or an intentional “work” designed to generate buzz and potentially build towards a future program involving himself and the TNA World Championship, regardless of who holds it. His critical tone could be a way to position himself as a defender of TNA against “outsiders.”
TNA’s “Against All Odds” will take place live from Tempe, Arizona, this Friday, June 6th, where the TNA World Championship held by NXT’s Trick Williams is set to be defended against Elijah.
