Top TNA Stars’ Contracts Expiring After Bound For Glory

The future of the new TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions, The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay), is currently up in the air, as a new report from Fightful Select has revealed that their current contracts with the company are set to expire after this weekend’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view. The duo, who only recently won the titles, have reportedly been on short-term deals since their return to the promotion.

While their contract status creates a level of uncertainty, the report notes that TNA has already expressed a strong interest in keeping the popular team and that the internal expectation is that a new deal will be reached. This news comes during what has been a busy “contract season” across wrestling, with a number of stars, including Cedric Alexander, Santos Escobar, and The New Day’s Xavier Woods, all recently in the news for their own contract negotiations.

For The IInspiration, their expiring deals come at a particularly interesting time, as they have just recaptured the championships they first won upon their TNA debut. The duo, formerly known as The IIconics in WWE, had taken a hiatus from wrestling to focus on motherhood before making their celebrated return to TNA earlier this year.

Their second reign as TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions began on last week’s episode of TNA Impact, where they defeated The Elegance Brand to win the titles. The victory immediately re-established them as the top team in the Knockouts tag team division and set the stage for a championship match at the company’s biggest event of the year, Bound For Glory.

The IInspiration are now scheduled to defend their newly won TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships in a rematch against the former champions, The Elegance Brand (Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance), at the Bound For Glory pay-per-view this Sunday, October 12.
