With Impact Wrestling usually not charting in the top 150 shows on cable, getting information about its viewership numbers is delayed.
Wade Keller of PWTorch.com reports that Tuesday’s episode of Impact on AXS TV delivered 102,000 viewers. It should be noted that this week’s show went up against WWE NXT, which was hyped as Super Tuesday on the USA Network. That episode did 849,000 viewers.
The prior eight weeks of Impact averaged 155,000 viewers. In fact, last week’s show did 171,000 viewers, which was the second biggest number since Slammiversary.
This week’s show saw a major title change with Eric Young beating Eddie Edwards to win the Impact World Championship.
It was added that the low since then was 134,000 four weeks ago. AXS TV is not reported in the Nielson top cable rating reports. Thus, there’s no word yet on the demo ratings for the show.
Next week will also see Impact Wrestling have competition from NXT. However, the following week, NXT will go back to its normal Wednesday night slot unless things change.
Impact Wrestling may have bigger concerns as the USA Network and WWE have talked about moving NXT to a different night with the belief that it could air on Tuesday or Thursday. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen.
