Bellator Featherweight Prelim Fight: Bubba Jenkins def. Joe Wilk via TKO (punches) – Round 2, 1:00

Main Card (9 p.m. ET)

Bellator Featherweight Feature Fight: Pat Curran (20-7) vs. Emmanuel Sanchez (10-1)

Round 1: Curran opens up with a sick uppercut. They clinch, exchange knees to the body and then  back out. Sanchez works the legs of Curran early. As the round went on, Curran began to open up more and more. Sanchez landed a superman punch to the jaw of Curran with just two minutes left in the round.

Round 2: Curran and Sanchez clashed heads to begin the round which has Sanchez suffer a cut over the left eye. Once we’re back to the action, Curran lands a second leg takedown leading into guard. It didn’t last long as Sanchez got right back to his feet after rolling off his back. While Sanchez pressed the action, Curran was throwing counter strikes and there was not a ton of action as Curran was just moving out of the way of anything Sanchez was throwing. Great footwork. Sanchez landed a big right hook that had Curran lose his balance, but quickly recovered. Sanchez pressed forward with a flurry of strikes. Sanchez shot in on a single-leg but shut down and Curran got into guard to end the round.

Round 3: Curran shot in on a single-leg and got it. Curran transitioned into half guard and worked over Sanchez from the top. Sanchez rolled off his back and to his feet. Great transitions. Curran got another single-leg takedown and got the back of Sanchez. This led to Sanchez rolling off his back and to his feet.

Result: Pat Curran def. Emmanuel Sanchez via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Bellator Middleweight Feature Fight: Joe Schilling (2-4) vs. Hisaki Kato (4-1)

Round 1: Schilling with a devastating kick to the midsection of Kato. Schilling with a bunch of kicks early on. Kato with a level change into a takedown and landing in half guard. Kato postures up and gets into full guard where he works over the midsection of Schilling with strikes. Kato blasts him from the top with strikes. Schilling ended up getting back to his feet with just seconds left in the round, but was blasted with strikes that almost had the fight stopped.

Round 2: Nato with a stiff superman punch that dropped and put the lights out in Georgia on Joe Schilling!

Result: Hisaki Kato def. Joe Schilling via knockout (punch) at :34 of round 2

Bellator Lightweight Feature Fight: Dave Rickels (16-3) vs. John Alessio (35-17)

Round 1: Rickels with a series of leg kicks to start the fight off. They clinch and rest on the fence. Rickels with a big knee and an uppercut. Alessio is stunned, Rickels poured it on as Alessio back peddled. Rickels followed it up with a knee to the face of Alessio. He blitzed him with strikes, but accidentally threw a knee to the head of Alessio and the fight was stopped for a moment. The fight was ruled a no-contest.

Result: John Alessio vs. David Rickels – no contest (unintentional illegal knee) – Round 1, 2:21

Bellator Heavyweight Main Event: Cheick Kongo (22-10-2) vs. Alexander Volkov (24-5)

Round 1: Kongo presses the action early but when shooting in on a takedown, he eats a knee to the jaw. Volkov mixing it up well with kicks and strikes, also flat footed. Volkov stunned him with a left hook. Kongo with a level change, but eats a left jab. Kongo works for the scoop takedown while on the fence and gets it. Not a ton of damage by Kongo on the ground, Volkov at one pointed attempted a guillotine choke, but nothing was too serious. Kongo gets into top control in guard and lands some serious elbows that splits open Volkov’s forehead.

Round 2: Kongo shoots in on a double leg and gets it right away. Volkov has no takedown defense so far. Kongo works him over on top with some elbows. This was the story of the round. Kongo stayed in half guard and worked him over with strikes. So far, Volkov has nothing to challenge Kongo and as a result, is a punching bag for Kongo.

Round 3: Within thirty seconds, Kongo landed a scoop double leg takedown into half guard and started where he left off in the previous rounds. With 1:20, they were stood up and Kongo went for a takedown, he got the double leg takedown very quickly after.

Result: Cheick Kongo def. Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
