CM Punk still has ties with the UFC as he’s being tested by USADA.
TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter looked into USADA’s database to see which fighters are still being drug tested and the former WWE Champion is listed. USADA works with the UFC for their drug testing policy.
It should be noted that Punk does do commentary for the CCFL promotion, which airs its events on the UFC’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.
Punk lost his first pro-MMA fight back at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio against Mickey Gall via first round submission. In his second bout, he lost to Mike Jackson by decision at UFC 225.
Perhaps this is Punk still holding out hope for another fight. After his second fight, UFC President Dana White dismissed the idea of Punk fighting again under the UFC banner.
Punk currently works for FOX Sports 1 as a special analyst for the weekly television show, WWE Backstage.
