CM Punk wants Brock Lesnar back in UFC, says he and Brock could break the UFC PPV record

CM Punk spoke with reporters at Friday’s media gathering. MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani says Punk would like to see Brock Lesnar return to UFC and if he and Brock were on the same card then that show, in his opinion, would break UFC’s all-time pay-per-view record.

Speaking of CM Punk, Anthony Pettis was interviewed by SportingNews.com before his fight at UFC 185 and was asked about CM Punk joining UFC. Pettis was asked about Punk’s attitude and noted Punk surprised him in a good way:

“Yes for sure. I just didn’t know what to expect. You see him on TV. I met him a couple times. You really don’t know what to expect from anybody. He came into the gym, you come into the practice room and you have two world champions on the floor, you have CM Punk, you have one of the most Olympic level wrestlers and everybodies is just training together. Everybody blends in and there’s no superstar. There’s no one person who gets more attention. Its just a team full of guys that all want to get better.”

By all accounts, Punk has shown a lot of potential and Duke Roufus, who has been training him, noted this past week that Punk has shown up for every session and they hope to be able to figure things out by July on whether he’s ready to fight in the Octagon. When the decision on a fight date is made then they would need to figure out a suitable opponent for him with similar fight experience.
