UFC President Dana White says Conor McGregor has already called him to request a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov, following his loss to him at UFC 229 on Saturday night.
White told ESPN First Take that McGregor is ready for another fight.
White said, "[Nurmagomedov] has to go before the Nevada commission, and we have to see what's going to happen with Khabib and this whole mess." He added, "But McGregor has already called me, wanting a rematch. That's what Conor has asked for. We'll see what happens with Khabib and what's next."
It's unclear what will happen following the brawl that took place after the fight but White said that the people who jumped in the cage to attack McGregor will never be allowed to fight in UFC. McGregor declined to press charges on Nurmagomedov's teammates.
The last word on Nurmagomedov is that the NSAC has withheld his pay for UFC 229 until they investigate the matter further. Prior to the fight, White stated that UFC 229 was likely all previous pay-per-view records. Despite the negativity surrounding the brawl, there is no doubt that a rematch would probably shatter the record set on Saturday night.
