Conor McGregor not worried about Jose Aldo’s ribs going into UFC 189, he’s going after his chin

Conor McGregor spoke with the media on Thursday night about the rumors/ reports that Jose Aldo suffered a rib injury while training on Tuesday.

While initial reports pegged him out of the fight, the UFC commented via statement that Aldo would be fighting at UFC 189.

Here’s what McGregor had to say:

“I’m going to go for the chin; I want to knock him out,” McGregor said. “He doesn’t need to worry about his ribs, and I’m not going to go out and purposely target an area. If he shows up and fights, which he should do, we’ll fight as scheduled.

“I’m not going to start diving at things. I’m just going to fight my fight. It’s the chin I am hunting.”

UFC 189 takes place on July 11, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will be shown on pay-per-view, Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
