Cub Swanson is scheduled to fight Max Holloway this Saturday night at UFC on Fox 15 in the co-main event, but spoke recently about possibly moving to a different weight division.
“I think I’m more likely to go up to 155 (pounds) then down to 135,” Swanson said. “I still see my career going for a while, so I see opportunities for change.”
Cub Swanson (21-6) 8 KO, 7 Subs & 6 Dec wins. He is 4-1 in his last five bouts, currently on a one fight losing streak prior to UFC on Fox 15. He beat Charles Oliveira at UFC 152 by first round knockout, then beat Dustin Poirier in February of 2013 by unanimous decision and then knocked out Dennis Siver at UFC 162 in third round TKO. He beat Jeremy Stephens by unanimous decision in June of 2014. In his next/latest fight, he lost to Frankie Edgar in November of 2014 by a fifth round neck crank submission.
“I’m happy with the UFC,” he said. “I could see myself fighting here for a while. I’ve got a couple more fights on my contract, but I’m sure they’re going to make me an offer, as long as I keep doing my thing and putting on great fights. I’m not too worried about it.”
UFC on Fox 15 takes place on April 18th in Newark, NJ and will air on Fox and Fight Pass.
