Dana White says he turned down three million dollars from Conor McGregor (updated)

Conor McGregor fights Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title at UFC 189 this Saturday night. UFC President Dana White appeared on Jim Rome on Tuesday afternoon and revealed that McGregor bet him (White) and Lorenzo Fertitta three million dollars that he could knock out Mendes early in the fight.

Obviously, White turned him down.

“I can’t even believe I’m going to say this, but he told Lorenzo and I the other day ‘I’ll bet you 3 million dollars I knock him out in the 2nd round,” White said. “When I tell you how extremely confident this guy is in himself it’s fascinating, he’s a very unique, fascinating individual, he’s fun to listen to and he’s definitely fun to watch.”

UFC 189 takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will be shown on pay-per-view, Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

UFC 189’s main event will be Chad Mendes vs. Conor McGregor for the interim featherweight title while the co-main event will be a welterweight championship between Robbie Lawler (c) and Rory MacDonald.
