Following his win at UFC Fight Night 66, #2 Frankie Edgar (19-4-1) 5 KOs, 4 Subs, 10 decision wins in his career and is 4-2 in his last six bouts said that he wants a title shot.
Frankie Edgar defeated Urijah Faber via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) at the event in the main event.
Edgar will have to wait after UFC 189 to see who the Featherweight champion is between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo. Edgar is strongly expected to get that title shot due to his record and lack of depth in that division.
Edgar is currently on a four-fight winning streak. In his last six bouts, he lost to Benson Henderson at UFC 150 by split decision, then lost to Jose Aldo at UFC 156 by unanimous decision. He has since rattled off a three fight winning streak, he beat Charles Oliveira at UFC 162 by unanimous decision, he knocked out BJ Penn in July of 2014 and then submitted Cub Swanson in November of 2014 in the fifth round by neck crank. He’s coming off a decision win over Urijah Faber at UFC Fight Night 66.
