James Vick (7-0) 1 KOs, 3 Subs, 3 decision wins in his career and has finished two out of his last five bouts is scheduled to fight Jake Matthews (8-0) 3 KOs, 4 Subs, 1 decision wins in his career this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 65.
Vick gave his prediction on the fight:
“I’m going to win; that’s my prediction, said Vick. I know it sounds bad, but I don’t consider either one of us undefeated because we both lost on ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Even though those don’t count on the record, I still consider that a loss. It’s kind of disappointing to even think about that. But technically I guess I’m still undefeated. I think I’m better. I match up great with Jake Matthews, and I’m going to be better in every position than he is…Second-round TKO. Middle of the second round.”
In his last five bouts, Vick beat Mike Salazar in August of 2011 by first round knockout, then Chris Pecero in September of 2011 by unanimous decision. Both fights came at local events. He made his UFC debut against Ramsey Nijem in August of 2013 by first round guillotine choke, then beat Valmir Lazaro in August of 2014 by unanimous decision and then Nick Hein in November of 2014 by unanimous decision. He was a Team Cruz member on TUF Live and been a pro since 2011.
UFC Fight Night 65 takes place on Saturday, May 9th, in Manila and will air on exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
