Brazilian media outlets Tatame and Globo are reporting that UFC is targeting August 1st in Rio de Janeiro for Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia for the UFC women's bantamweight title at UFC 190. MMAFighting.com has also confirmed the news with sources close to the situation.
Correa is 9-0 and seems to be the most logical person to be next in line to challenge Ronda for her title. She defeated two of Ronda's teammates last year with victories over Jessamyn Duke and a TKO against Shayna Baszler.
UFC is on a hot streak with the first two pay-per-views this year doing great business and the Fox Sports 1 show during Super Bowl Sunday (headlined by Connor McGregor vs. Dennis Siver) doing great ratings for the network. UFC 182 did 800,000 PPV buys, UFC 183 did between 600,000 to 700,000 buys, and UFC 184's preliminary numbers are somewhere around 500,000 to 600,000 buys.
