Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is scheduled to fight Chris Camozzi this Saturday at UFC On Fox 15 and recently spoke about the upcoming fight.
“I love challenges and, for sure, I am going to go there and dominate him,” Souza said.
Chris Camozzi was not Souza’s first opponent at the event, Yoel Romero was. Chris Camozzi steps into this fight on one week notice.
“I was pretty sure I would do a great performance,” Souza said. “I had a great camp, and my body and mind were ready. That was the reason I was so happy to have a chance to fight him again. I was able to use everything I trained for. I was able to keep the fight standing as I wished. I got hit a couple times and I did not feel much of it, so I was feeling comfortable to stand and trade and wait for the right moment to bring the fight to the ground. My performance was perfect, my strategy was on point and I was able to show a little bit of everything that I had for this fight. The most impressive part was when I was able to stand with him – I was exchanging and connecting my punches.”
Ronaldo Souza (21-3) 2 KO, 15 Sub & 4 DEC wins. Souza is currently on a seven fight winning streak. He has finished four out of his last five fights, three coming by submission and one coming by knockout. He beat Ed Herman in Strikeforce in January of 2013 by first round kimura. He made his UFC debut against Chris Camozzi, which he won by first round triangle choke in May of 2013. In his next three bouts he beat Yushin Okami in September of 2013 by first round TKO, then beat Francis Carmont in February of 2014 by unanimous decision. In his next and last bout prior to UFC on Fox 15, he beat Gegard Mousasi in September of 2014 by third round guillotine choke.
