T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao met in a Bantamweight Championship bout as the main event of UFC on Fox 16. In one of the more entertaining title fights in UFC history, Dillashaw proved that his first win over Barao was not a fluke and that he is the real deal. He finished Barao via TKO in the fourth round to remain champion.
UFC on Fox 16 was held on July 25, 2015, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The main card aired on Fox while the co-main event aired on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
T.J. Dillashaw (13-2) is currently on a four-fight winning streak. In his last six bouts, he’s 5-1. He beat Hugo Viana at UFC on Fox 7 by first-round TKO, but then lost at UFC Fight Night 29 to Raphael Assuncao by split decision. He then ripped a three-fight winning streak. He beat Mike Easton at UFC Fight Night 35 by unanimous decision to earn a title shot against Renan Barao at UFC 173 by fifth-round TKO. He then beat Joe Soto at UFC 177 by fifth-round knockout. He knocked out Renan Barao at UFC on Fox 16 in the fourth round.
Renan Barao  (33-3-1) is currently on a one-fight losing streak. In his last six bouts, he’s 4-2. He beat Michael McDonald at UFC on Fuel 7 by fourth round arm triangle choke, Eddie Wineland at UFC 165 by second-round TKO and then Urijah Faber by first-round TKO at UFC 169. He lost to TJ Dillashaw at UFC 173 by fifth-round TKO. He rebounded with a win over Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58 by third-round arm triangle choke. He lost to DJ Dillashaw at UFC on Fox 16 in the fourth round.

Round 1: Barao the aggressor early on and Dillashaw was extremely confident. They clinch, Barao with some good knees to the body of Dillashaw. Dillashaw with a straight right then a knee then a right hook to Barao. Dillashaw clinches with Barao up on the fence as USA chants breakout. They trade in the pocket. Dillashaw with some nice jabs. Dillashaw was so much faster than Barao. Barao tagged Dillashaw with a nice combo of hooks.
Round 2: Dillashaw clinched with Barao to begin the round and they did some work up on the fence. They separate, Dillashaw landed some short jabs. Dillashaw clinches once again with Barao, which in result drains the energy of Barao.
Round 3: Barao looked to take the fight to the ground as he continued to shoot in for takedowns to begin the round, but were stuffed by Dillashaw. Dillashaw turns the tide and looks for his own takedowns. Dillashaw hurt Barao at the end of the round with a series of knees to the jaw of Barao.
Round 4: Dillashaw tagged him with a left hook the just T’d off on Barao up against the fence to end the fight.
