Tito Ortiz offers guarantee for his upcoming fight against Alberto Del Rio

Earlier this year, there was a big rumor going around that former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz could potentially fight former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, also known as Alberto El Patron.

It turns out that rumor came true as the two men are slated to fight in a 210 catchweight bout likely in October.

Ortiz recently appeared on iHeartRadio’s Domenick Nati Show where he spoke about a wide range of topics including if he thinks he will defeat the former WWE star in the first round. Ortiz believes that will be the case just like his previous fight against Chuck Liddell.

“Well you know, it will be a three-round fight. Three, five-minute rounds. And I will train for three, five-minute rounds. Coming from the WWE, those guys can take a beating. Let’s see if Alberto can take a beating for a round. I guarantee it will be just like the last one, nice and short.”

The show also sent us other notable quotes with time stamps from the interview which you can see here:

“I’m Mexican American and he’s Mexican. I want my country to be safe but Alberto doesn’t believe a wall should be up” (0:25)

“I questioned him, then why do you live in San Antonio now? How come you don’t live in Mexico” (1:26)

“That’s where it got slippery. We have our disagreements and he said he wanted to fight me and I think he bit off more than he can chew.” (1:49)

“I’m here to battle for my country and for Latinos that want to come to this country the right way” (1:56)

“100% I’m a Trump supporter. When I was on Celebrity Apprentice, Trump told me ‘Tito don’t tarnish your word for anything and make sure you keep your name solid as possible” (3:13)

“Trump is no racist. Americans should come first here in America. Plain and simple” (4:09)

If he ever fought Chuck Liddell again he it would be the first death in MMA because he would kill him. It’s sad that Chuck has to fight at 49 years old because he has no money (5:04)

Ben Askren is 100% the most overrated fighter in UFC (7:40)

“I can beat Jon Jones today. 100%” (8:09)
